A set of sixteen damask napkins from a hunting service, second half of the 19th century. In linen damask with a dense, high-contrast hunting motif, framed by a woodland landscape and a castle in the background where horsemen and horsewomen gallop, surrounded by a pack of hounds; a leaping stag in the spandrels; and a stag and his doe amidst foliage in the centre. The initials ‘DP’, adorned with small flowers and dots, are finely embroidered in one corner. Dimensions: 93 x 74 cm (in fine condition, with a few very small stains)
