Table linen set, comprising a banquet tablecloth and fifteen damask napkins with hunting motifs, second half of the 19th century. In linen damask with a beautiful, high-contrast design featuring hunting scenes: the border depicts a dense forest of deciduous trees and tall firs, with galloping horsemen and a leaping stag pursued by hounds in the spandrels; hunting trophies in the centre, including hunting horns, a game bag, a slaughter scene and branches with oak leaves framing a large ‘DC’ monogram set amongst pansies and a knotted ribbon, embroidered in white and in relief. Dimensions: tablecloth 4.20 x 2.10 m, napkins 92 x 75 cm (good condition, two small holes 30 and 50 cm from the edge of the tablecloth, two pinpricks on the border) We are including a sixteenth napkin of the same design (with one small hole)
