Description
Damascene banquet tablecloth featuring grasses and morning glories, the Great Arms and a ducal crown, late 19th to early 20th century. In linen damask with the same design as the previous lot, featuring wildflowers in delicate, finely drawn motifs; the border consists of garlands interwoven with bellflowers, vetch, bindweed and grasses, set between two undulating beaded friezes, the table runner features a medley of sinuous stems in the same floral ornamental style and large bouquets of blooming peonies, cornflowers and grass inflorescences. A large coat of arms featuring lions beneath a ducal crown, very finely embroidered in plumetis and point de sable. Dimensions: 4.25 m x 2.40 m (in fine condition)
