September 1996, stand 66.
In our opinion, this superb chest of drawers is adorned with panels of
late 17th- or early 18th-century Kangxi Chinese lacquer, circa 1700,
certainly originating from a folding screen and adapted to a frame, then adorned
with superb bronze fittings in the style of Desforges, the famous cabinetmaker of
the Louis XV era.
