Attributed to Claudio COELLO (Madrid 1642–1693) Portrait of a court lady holding a fan Oil on canvas H.: 130 cm – W.: 97 cm We associate this portrait with those held at the Bilbao Museum (three portraits of Maria Anna of Neuburg and one portrait of Francesca Mudarra) by Coello, who was court painter from 1685 to 1693, succeeding Juan Carreño de Miranda. Our portrait was previously identified as that of Marie-Christine, daughter of Marie-Thérèse, sister of Marie-Antoinette, married to Albert of Saxony-Teschen, the last governor of the Austrian Netherlands.
