The ten-foot imperial bed features twisted fluting and an Ionic capital, whilst the armrest corbels are in the form of a basket and coiled acanthus leaves. The backrest of the imperial chair is topped by a fire pot garlanded with roses; its upholstery is in cream silk, finely embroidered with garlands of flowers. The quilted cover is in glacier-blue silk, embroidered in the centre and fringed. The canopy is adorned with a sloping valance, fringed with twisted cords and jasmine motifs, in cream silk with an embroidered design alternating between a garland of small flowers and a knotted ribbon. The satin back panel features an embroidered canette design depicting a trained dog, punctuated by bouquets and garlands of flowers, surmounting a frieze of medallions painted with animals.
