An office armchair in mahogany and carved and moulded mahogany veneer. The wraparound, gondola-shaped backrest is openwork with three balusters featuring palmette motifs. The swivelling, cane-seated seat, upholstered with a fawn-coloured leather cushion, rests on four flared sabre legs with scrollwork. Louis Philippe period. Marked ‘BB’. Attributed to Georges-Alphonse Jacob-Desmalter (1799–1870) H. 87.5 cm – W. 65.5 cm – D. 60 cm (signs of wear, restoration, minor losses, stains on the leather)
