Important Aubusson carpet, Charles X period, c. 1825/1830. An emerald-green field featuring a polychrome mosaic design of stylised flower buds, adorned with a large, multi-lobed central medallion in the shape of a highly colourful medal, surmounted by a multicoloured floral wreath and inlaid with a bouquet of polychrome flowers. A beautiful frame forming the brown and tobacco-coloured border, featuring ivory-coloured reserved areas echoing the central medallion and surrounded by four spandrels giving the effect of mouldings, inlaid with floral compositions. Needlework, tapestry technique using woollen threads on a cotton ground. 543 x 361 cm (marks, oxidation and natural wear)
