Description
René LALIQUE (1860–1945). ‘Victoire’ radiator cap, a design created in 1928; a mascot that became a symbol of the Art Deco period. Known as ‘Victoire’ or ‘Spirit of the Wind’, it was presumably created to pay homage to the Allied victory of 1918. A sample piece in moulded, pressed white glass with a satin-matt and glossy finish. Mounted with a ring on a black glass base. Moulded signature. In perfect condition. H. 18.5 cm – L. 26 cm.
