Description
René LALIQUE (1860–1945). ‘Source de la Fontaine Galatée’ Press-moulded white glass statuette on a quadrangular plinth. Design created in 1925. A tiny chip on the lower rear section. Unsigned. H_ 52 cm. Eight examples of this model were originally produced for the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925. It subsequently appeared in the 1928 and 1932 catalogues before being withdrawn in 1937.
