Carabiniere helmet. Brass helmet stamped ‘Delachaussée’ and dated 1856. Varnished brass crest decorated with laurel leaves; iron headband featuring a brass pomegranate motif. Radiating iron studs. Chin straps with figure-of-eight brass rings, lined with leather. Nickel silver band, scarlet horsehair chenille, black sheepskin inner lining (heavily worn). ABE. Second Empire period.
