Description
1822 model cavalry sabre.
Leather-covered hilt with brass filigree. Brass mountings, three-pronged guard, hallmarked on the guard plate and one prong of the anchor, and registered. Curved blade with hollow edges and a flat back, engraved ‘Manufre Nle de Châtellerault August 1851’. Sheath made of sheet iron with a single ferrule bearing the guard’s serial number, stamped with an anchor at the top and on the ferrule.
Length: 110 cm.
With a leather sword strap.
