Description
Double barrelled table top shotgun, 19th century model, with modified percussion flint. Front lock engraved with the name of a gunsmith in cursive letters "BELLEDENT" and "à Epernay" on the other side. Luxury rifle, beautifully grained walnut, decorated with a finely worked boar's head with protruding tusks, expressive look, texture of the coat restored, without shock or defect. The cheek rest in relief is decorated with a finely detailed cornflower in the round (4cm). Steel fittings finely inlaid in the wood, with no play or missing parts. Steel buttplate, barrels in their original blued condition. Crowned palm stamp with inscription 24. Silver thumbpiece in the form of a shield; finely checkered grip. Central barley grain. Barrel length 81 cm, overall length 1.22 m. Mouth diameter: 16 mm. Original and period wooden ramrod with full length. The gun is elegant and refined in its original finish, with no oxidation on the barrels or locks. On the other hand, it has been lying on the ground for a long time, which has caused oxidation to the butt plate and discreet dampness to rise to the base of the stock, resulting in wear to the wood on the right-hand side.
