Regulation infantry rifle model 1777 modified AN IX; First Empire period.
Original flintlock, manufactured by the Imperial factory in St Etienne. Bronze bassoon, bassoon cover of the model, hammer and jaw of origin.
On the top of the thunder, marking Mle 1777 (attenuated), weapon numbered 521 on the barrel, and 18 6.
All steel fittings and original on a sturdy walnut stock, no wormholes or grooves with a few stains around the pins, minor knocks from use, and the stigmata of exposure to fire on the bottom of the stock.

Wood hallmarked AP.
Stock button peg engraved EF (rounded text illegible).
No date on left side of barrel.
