Along with Minerva and Venus, the figure of Juno is part of a group forming one of the nine-light candelabras of classical inspiration made to decorate the mantelpiece of the Duc de Montpensier around 1840. Around 1865, Antoine-Louis Barye made Juno an independent work. The isolated model was later published by the Peyrol foundry.
