Sculpture and bronzes at auction

Dive into a sculptural journey, from ancient to modern, where marble, bronze and artistic finesse meet.

From the ronde-bosse to the bas-relief, carving and modelling take pride of place in a category that rivals the accuracy of proportions, the effects of depth and the precision of chiselling. Christ on the Cross, the Virgin and Child, and saintly figures are all featured in auctions dedicated to the Haute Époque, the Renaissance and later centuries. Wooden sculptures and rare marble statues rub shoulders with stone busts, plaster and terracotta heads: you'll find second-hand sculptures and statues of all origins, periods, materials, sizes and appraisals at these auctions. Animal bronzes are a regular feature of these auctions, where illustrious names such as Barye, Mène and Bugatti are associated with famous founders such as Siot-Decauville and Barbedienne. All techniques are on offer (lost wax, sand casting, etc.). Bronze, with its distinctive techniques such as lost-wax casting, brings a unique historical and aesthetic richness, reflected in works by Maillol, Sandoz, Guyot, Rodin, Degas and others. Ancient castings come face to face with modern and contemporary creations, enriching the artistic panorama.
