Description
GERMANY, Model 1940 Stahlhelm Shell made of pressed sheet steel, with an inwards-folded rim; ventilation holes drilled directly into the shell. Dark green paint with a slightly textured finish. Model 1931 inner lining, featuring a fawn-coloured leather liner mounted on a zinc ring, which is in turn connected to an outer ring by spring clips. The outer ring is secured to the shell by three rivets and counter-rivets. Insignia partially worn away. Germany. Second World War. Good condition; wear to the leather cap; slight chips in the paintwork on the shell; minor signs of oxidation.
