Originally from the north of France, Antoine Stevens was born in 1987. He began graffiti whilst at secondary school and in 2005 started developing his work in the studio with a view to making it his profession. Through a series of exhibitions and artistic performances, Antoine Stevens has carved out a place for himself in the art world. His style and talent have enabled him to exhibit for the past ten years or so in France, Luxembourg, London, Monaco and even Singapore.
Whilst Antoine Stevens’ technique is largely inspired by that of urban artists, his subjects are much more closely linked to classical painting. Each painting technique he employs has its own interpretation: graffiti to convey the contemporary nature of the women he paints, and luminous touches chosen from a palette of soft, delicate colours to symbolise hope.
Through his contemporary aesthetic – ranging from drawing to acrylic painting and graffiti – Antoine Stevens brings out the beauty of the feminine, its power and its desire for the future.
In his portraits, Antoine Stevens pays particular attention to the gaze in order to capture the full range of his model’s emotions. The nostalgia that the artist allows to shine through in his paintings invites the viewer to reflect on the subject’s thoughts and intentions.
