Two sales from the Joseph de Winter Collection are listed in the Lugt: one on 29-30 March 1918 in Budapest (Cornelia Demidoff and Dr Jozseph Winter) and the second on 12 March 1928 in Brussels (Galerie Giroux). In the 1928 sale, La Tentation de saint Antoine by the school of David Teniers appears under no. 52.

Artus Wolffort was enrolled in the Guild of Saint Luke in Dordrecht in 1603. He was active in Holland until 1615. On his return to Antwerp in 1615, he joined the Antwerp guild in 1617, working in Otto van Veen's workshop. In 1635, he collaborated with Rubens on the decoration of the triumphant entry of Archduke Ferdinand.
