Alexander Evgenevich IACOVLEFF (1887-1938) Cassis Tempera on canvas, located, dated and signed lower right Cassis/ 1927 A Iacovleff 49 x 60 cm Alexandre Iacovleff, famous for bringing back hundreds of landscapes and portraits from the Croisières Noire (1924) and Jaune (1931), was a travelling artist. While Paris became his home port, he loved to escape between Citroën expeditions in self-propelled vehicles to the shores of the Mediterranean and dive, as a confirmed athlete, into the sparkling water.
