Description
A fine cabinet in ebony veneer and blackened wood, opening via two drawers in the upper section and two doors adorned with medallions depicting mythological scenes (depicting the death of Procris). The interior comprises fourteen drawers and two doors revealing a veneered wooden compartment decorated with rosettes; the arched rear section contains ten drawers. The base features two drawers in a band resting on eight torso columns joined by an entablature. France, Louis XIII period. 181 x 158 x 55.5 cm. Later base, minor imperfections, some veneer chips and cracks. A frieze on the cornice and two elements on the left-hand door are missing.
