PABLO PICASSO (1881–1973) & ATELIER MADOURA: ‘Bird No. 91’, a design created in [1963], proof numbered 143/150. Round plate on a foot. Authentic replica of the limited edition of one hundred and fifty numbered copies produced by Madoura. White earthenware piece; decoration in engobe and partial underglaze enamel applied with a brush, black patina. Marked ‘No. 91 Edition PICASSO MADOURA’ and numbered 143/150 in brushstrokes on the reverse. Diameter 25.5 cm. Very slight wear to the glaze on the rim’s edge on the reverse. Bibliography: Alain Ramié – Picasso, catalogue of ceramic works produced 1947–1971 – Editions Madoura, 1988. An identical piece is reproduced on page 249 under catalogue number 485.
