A long, rectangular wall-mounted console table in walnut, with four tubular legs joined by a cross-brace. Top in grey Sainte-Anne marble. Stamped ‘Jacob. D. Rue Meslee’. Iron brand mark of the Compiègne Castle furniture and handwritten numbers No. C 14097 and C 2293. Empire period. Height: 91.5 cm – Width: 195 cm – Depth: 48 cm Stamp used by the partnership between Georges Jacob and his son François-Honoré Jacob between 1803 and 1813. History: Delivered around 1810 for the dining room of the House’s officers. Listed as a pair in an inventory dated 31 December 1811 under no. 2293.
