Description
A reduced-scale model of Trajan’s Column, made of black marble and stone (?). The shaft of the column tapers from the base and is decorated with an incised, continuous spiral frieze depicting battle scenes; it is surmounted by a bronze figure. Stepped plinth adorned with a Latin epigraphic inscription: “S. P. Q. R. IMP. CAES. DIVI NERV. F. TRAJANO AVG. G. D. POT. M IMP. VI. COS. F”. Probably an Italian work from the 19th century. Chips and losses. Total height: 47 cm.
