Laurent PÉCHEUX (1729-1821). The Air. Juno asks Aeolus to stir up the winds against Aeneas' fleet and stir up a storm. Large oil on canvas, signed lower middle. H_126 cm L_184,5 cm, accidents, old restorations Painted by Pécheux in 1804, our painting illustrating the air is part of a series devoted to the elements, the four works having so far been listed in an extensive bibliography. Provenance: Collection of Benedetto Pécheux, son of the artist, Paris, in 1808. Acquired by the current owner in the 1970s.
