Note: Achille Laugé was born on 29 April 1861 in Arzens (Aude), near Carcassonne, and died on 2 June 1944 in Cailhau (Aude), where he settled permanently after his father’s death and where he painted the majority of his works.
An artist deeply attached to Occitanie, his native region, Laugé fascinates with his unique journey within the Neo-Impressionist movement. In 1886, at the Salon des Indépendants, he discovered Georges Seurat’s seminal painting,
A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.
