Description
Yvon LE BELLEC (1924–2017). Composition (gears) – 2011. Abstract sculpture comprising serrated wheels made of yellow-lacquered metal. Signed and dated on the base. H_170 cm W_74 cm D_61 cm Note: Originally from Finistère, Yvon Le Bellec lived, worked and spent the latter part of his life on the Côte d’Azur following a career as an architect, notably in Africa. His historic home, a magnificent contemporary villa situated in the Croix des Gardes district of Cannes, was designed to integrate his works of art directly into its architecture. The region is home to several of his major works in public spaces, such as *Alléluia* on the Île-Verte roundabout (Valbonne), or his monumental sculpture in Pré-du-Lac (Châteauneuf-Grasse).
