Sebastião Ribeiro SALGADO (Brazilian artist, 1944–2025). Ilhas Anavilhanas – 2009. Photographic print. H_19.8 cm W_29.7 cm, slight dent in the lower central part. Presented with a certificate of authenticity in Portuguese on the reverse. Note: Exiled to France in 1969, Salgado became a professional photographer in Paris in 1973, working for Sygma, Gamma and then Magnum. In 1994, he founded the Amazonas Images agency with his wife, Lélia Wanick Salgado. He has produced major, long-term black-and-white projects on the human condition and the state of the planet: Sahel, Workers (1993), Migrations (2000), Genesis (2004–2011) and Amazônia (2021).
