Modern and contemporary paintings - Contemporary art at auction

Share the major upheavals in art from the Impressionists to the present day...

Do you think there's a before and after to Monet's Impression, Sunrise? Or after Picasso's Les Demoiselles d'Avignon? All the major pictorial revolutions from the end of the 19th century to the present day are recounted through works offered at auction. From Impressionism to Surrealism, via Pointillism, Symbolism and Cubism, all the modern artistic movements of the 20th century are represented at auction. The various trends in abstraction, both in France and abroad, are represented alongside the Expressionists, Pop Art, Figuration Narrative and the New Realists, to name but a few. Post-war, contemporary and contemporary art are all on show at these auctions. If your taste isn't for the avant-garde, you can also discover works of art that have gone on forever. You can also discover works that perpetuate the tradition of "great" painting. Representatives of "regionalist" currents are also presented at auction: Basque, Breton, Lyonnais and Provençal artists, to name but a few. Note that these sales are not limited to European and American artists, as is the case with Russian painters. The thematic auctions will give you the opportunity to start or complete a collection. Note: many 20th-century artists excelled in the technique of engraving, so don't hesitate to consult the "Prints and lithographs" category.
