Oriental rugs, kilims, antique tapestries and decorative textiles

Oriental rugs, kilims, antique tapestries and decorative textiles.

Rugs, textiles and decorative tapestries, antique or modern, from traditional know-how or industrial manufacture. The selection includes hand-knotted oriental rugs (Persian, Caucasus, Anatolia), flat-woven kilims, Berber carpets (Beni Ouarain, Azilal), antique wall tapestries (Aubusson, Flanders, Gobelins), as well as furnishing textiles such as cushions, curtains, plaids, bed throws or embroidered bedspreads. Antique rugs are often knotted in wool, silk or cotton, with floral, geometric or symbolic designs. Antique tapestries may depict mythological, historical or rural scenes, and are appreciated for their rich colors and decorative value. Some textiles come from the great French and European manufactures and workshops, while others come from the traditional crafts of the Orient, North Africa and Central Asia. There are period pieces, vintage models from the 1950s to the 1970s, as well as hand-woven or printed creations. These rugs and textiles are prized for dressing floors, decorating walls, structuring spaces, or complementing classic, ethnic or contemporary interiors. They combine textile material, elaborate pattern and lasting decorative function.
