Description
Wedding chest Made of beech (the only visible wood) and metal. Rectangular in shape, with a domed lid, it is fitted with a metal hook and hinges. Polychrome decoration featuring a compass rose set against a background of flowers and foliage on the lid, and a heart on the front, set within a bouquet and surrounded by a floral and foliage motif. Sides feature plant motifs. The interior is lined with paper, the back of which bears lines of handwritten copies in ink of various words and letters.
