Description
Wedding chest Made of polychrome beech and softwood, with metal fittings. Rectangular in shape, with a domed lid. It is decorated with a rosebush sprouting from the ground, bearing beautiful, fully bloomed roses. On the front, a potted rosebush is painted between two plants with blue flowers. Both sides are also decorated with potted rose bushes, featuring blooms in full bloom. The interior is lined with plain paper. Two latches, metal hinges and a keyhole, without a lock. 19th century H. 25 cm – W. 46.5 cm – D. 29.5 cm Repainted over the original background, which has been scraped away, with the decoration worn across the entire piece. A yellow stain on the inside and minor imperfections.
