178. A pair of ornamental ewers in blue porcelain with gilt bronze mounts in the style of Gouthière, circa 1860
Of oval shape, they feature rich ornamentation of gilt and chiselled bronze, including the heads of a woman and a bearded man, a frieze of openwork foliage, and a handle in the shape of a naiad; the fluted, leaf-decorated pedestal rests on a square base with rounded corners, 48cm high 18 1/2in high).
