ДВАДЦАТЬ ТЫСЯЧЪ ЛЬЁ ПОДЪ ВОДОЙ [Vingt mille lieues sous les mers], spotting and toning throughout, upper margins trimmed (occasionally just touching page numbers), publisher's blind-stamped green cloth gilt, rebacked preserving most of the original spine, 8vo, Moscow, University Press (Katkov & Co.), 1870
One of the earliest Russian appearances of Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, printed at the University Press in Moscow in 1870, the same year Hetzel completed the French serialisation and issued the second volume in book form. This Russian edition was preceded only by Marko Vovchok's authorised translation (Zvonaryov, St Petersburg, 1870), which was issued under the adapted title Восемьдесят тысяч вёрстъ подъ водой (Eighty Thousand Versts Under the Sea, a verst being a Russian unit of measurement).
