'Salus Populi Romani. Protectress of the Roman people'
Oil on copper. With a carved and patinated wooden period frame.

Frame measurements: 18 x 14,5 cm.
As stated by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, “the devotion to the Madonna Salus Populi Romani (Virgin of the Popolo) has been present in Spain at least since the 16th century, following the iconography of the image in Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome: the Virgin holds the Child on her lap, who blesses with one hand and holds a book with the other.”
It shows slight losses.
