Royal Mint – Henry IV (1574–1589) – Quart d’écu, 3rd type with a cross with fleur-de-lis arms facing forwards, struck at Nantes in 1598; ‘T’ beneath the shield in the legend, date on the obverse, 17th-century obverse and reverse; rose mark differing from that of the Master of the Mint, Antoine Bariller, on the reverse between ‘DOMINI’ and ‘BENE’; dotted ‘C’ differing from that of the engraver Côme Ménard on both obverse and reverse; dot between ‘BENE’ and ‘DICTVM’ (silver, 9.63 g) Very Fine+ to Very Fine (R1, Gadoury 597)
