Peter Hertz, silversmith in Copenhagen, Denmark. A set of twelve coffee spoons and two vermeil spoons, with blue and white enamelled decoration. 924°/°° silver hallmark. Circa 1890. A few slight chips and areas where the enamel is missing. Gross weight: 220g. 924°/°° silver, preferred to sterling silver (925°/°°), was specifically used by the Hertz firm in the late 19th century to minimise import duties for foreign markets, without significantly compromising the quality of the silverware.
