SEAL CASE with an oval-shaped seal made of gold and translucent enamel, decorated with gold and green scalloped friezes on a blue background. The seal face is engraved with a heraldic coat of arms, surmounted by the motto ‘All or nothing’. Louis XVI period. H: 8.5 cm. Weight: 18 g. Comparable to the work of Joseph Etienne Blerzy (active 1750–1806), one of whose wax seals is held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
