JAPAN, Imari - EDO period (1603 - 1868), 17th/17th CENTURY
A large octagonal porcelain vase decorated in blue underglaze and green, blue and gold enamels, with slightly pinched ribs and decorated with a phoenix in flight in paulownia, flowers and animals (minor wear, restorations to the base - no lid)
Height 67 cm
The neck decorated with a gilt bronze mounting with a frieze of flowers added later.
The condition of the porcelain under the mounting is not guaranteed.
