In the Veracruz region, richly adorned female figures appear in ritual contexts where the use of hallucinogenic substances is attested during ceremonies linked to communication with the world of the gods. The face, pointing skywards, appears to be frozen in a state of intense concentration, evoking a profound inner experience. His fingers are covered in ornaments, which is rare in the works of this people. The whole piece stands out for the mastery of its modelling and the silent force of its expression, giving the sculpture a singular presence.
