Amorphous epoxy paints and the depth and density of his materials produce multi-dimensional effects of changing light and colour. Zimmermann uses Photoshop filters to manipulate personal images, as well as historical images from books. His abstract paintings examine the terms of contemporary visual representation, namely that it is no longer possible to look at an image without being confronted with a multitude of digital visual contexts.
