BOOK OF HOURS FOR USE IN PARIS. A 15th-century illuminated manuscript on fine vellum; it comprises 143 folios, each page containing 18 lines written in Gothic script; In-8°, brown morocco, spine with six decorated raised bands, covers decorated with double crossed bands, fleurons in the corners, foliage and small flowers, edges gilded. Later binding. It is richly illuminated with 11 miniatures attributed to François Fouquet, son of Nicolas Fouquet, comprising 6 large and 5 small miniatures. One of the large miniatures, the Annunciation, is set within a very fine architectural frame on a gold background; the other miniatures, both large and small, are surrounded by beautiful polychrome and gold floral scrolls. Each page is adorned with fine gilt initials on a coloured background.
