Caragoca (Zaragoza), published by the widow of Bartholomé de Nagera, 1565; Small 8vo, 4 unnumbered preliminary folios, 112 numbered folios and 12 unnumbered folios forming the table of contents, on soft vellum. Original binding. An extremely rare edition of this medical treatise published by the author one year after the terrible epidemic that struck Zaragoza in 1564. Printed title page. Centred on the page is the engraved coat of arms of King Philip II. On the verso of the last leaf, the publisher’s wood-engraved typographical mark. A fine engraved illustration on the spine of the front leaf depicting Porcell operating on a woman.
