B.: this lot is sold with legal fees, reduced to 14.86% instead of 25%. This table by Gustav Siegel for J. & J. Kohn is a perfect illustration of the evolution of bentwood furniture towards the modernist aesthetic of the Viennese Secession. With its clean lines, geometric openwork patterns and combination of bentwood and brass, it demonstrates the desire to reconcile industrial innovation with decorative refinement. Designed as part of a coherent furniture ensemble, it also reflects the influence of the principles of the Wiener Werkstätte on J. & J. Kohn's production in the early 20th century.
