His work draws on a veritable archaeology of the image: old photographs, magazines from the 1960s and 70s, salvaged posters and printed fragments are cut out, repurposed and then juxtaposed with paint. From this accumulation emerge deconstructed compositions, oscillating between figuration and abstraction, populated by chimeras, hybrid creatures and ghostly presences. Behind the apparent poetry and strangeness of this world lies a more critical perspective on our times. Jerk 45 employs incongruity, the absurd and an aesthetic drawn as much from surrealism as from the raw energy of punk to examine the family, consumer society, memory and the contradictions of human nature. His work thus functions as a collage of memories and eras, where images from the past are reactivated to create new stories. This approach is deeply rooted in the spirit of the 9th Concept: breaking down barriers between artistic practices, experimenting and making art a living, collective and accessible language.
