on steel clasps · One-off piece
A pair of cufflinks crafted from two
vintage mechanical watch movements, dismantled, cleaned and then reassembled by
hand in the artist’s studio. Each piece retains traces of its
former life: bridges, jewels and original engravings. It was with this gesture, in
2008, that Quentin Carnaille embarked on his artistic journey: to give a
second life to the mechanics of time and wear them every day, close
to the wrist.
