Description
BARONESS DE STAEL-HOLSTEIN – *Corinne, or Italy*. Stereotype edition published by H. Nicolle, Paris 1807, Volume One and Volume Two – Corinne is the story of a thwarted passion in which the conflicting laws of desire and society clash, but it is also a thought-provoking novel, foreshadowing Romanticism (the term was coined by Madame de Staël), and one that was admired by Chateaubriand, Stendhal and Benjamin Constant. (Longchamp) – Signs of age and minor damage
