CRETIN, Guillaume. *Les Poésies*. Paris: Printed by Antoine Urbain Coustelier, 1723. In-12. Full red morocco binding, spine richly decorated with small metalwork and fillets, triple gilt fillet framing the covers, wide inner roulette, gilt edges. (binding signed Belz-Niédrée).
An excellent edition of the works of Guillaume Dubois, known as Crétin, chaplain to François I, hailed as the ‘Supreme French Poet’ by Clément Marot.
On pp. 72–109 there is a text on ‘Le passe-temps des chiens et oyseaux’ (‘The Pastime of Dogs and Birds’), which makes this volume highly sought after by bibliophile hunters.
