Description
DINKY TOYS POCH ref. 513 OPEL ADMIRAL brick-red metallic – a very rare variant assembled in Spain in 1968, of which only a few dozen were produced, fitted with Pirelli tyres, Spanish front and rear number plates with a ‘B’ for Barcelona – minor damage (notably to the rear windscreen) and dents.
As Franco’s Spain was hostile to imports of finished goods, Meccano’s local representative, ‘POCH S.A.’, found an alternative by having the Dinky cars delivered in kit form. They were assembled and painted in Barcelona in small quantities to meet local demand. The specialised tyres were also manufactured in Catalonia. Very few remain today. - Lot sold as is, showing signs of wear and tear, with minor damage and missing parts.
