Eugène-Antoine AIZELIN (1821–1902). Pandora. A large bronze cast with a brown patina, signed "Ene AIZELIN" and dated 1863. "F. BARBEDIENNE. Foundry." Stamped with the Collas mechanical reduction mark. H. 61 cm. In Greek mythology, Pandora is the very first woman, fashioned from clay by Hephaestus on Zeus’s orders to punish mankind, after Prometheus had stolen fire from them.
